About This Retaining Wall Repair
The existing timber retaining wall at this Botany Downs property had two sleepers that had deteriorated and needed replacement. Although this was a relatively small repair, matching older retaining wall timber can sometimes be more difficult than the repair itself.
Retaining wall sleepers are available in a range of sizes and profiles, and timber used in an older wall is not always easy to source in exactly the same dimensions. Using a noticeably different board can affect both the fit and the finished appearance.
Fortunately, the homeowner, Anna, already had two matching spare sleepers stored at the property. They were the correct size for the existing wall, which meant there was no need to spend additional time searching for unusual replacement timber or modifying a different-sized board to fit.
