Hedge Trimming &
Garden Tidy-Up — Botany
An overgrown hedge and surrounding shrubs were trimmed, shaped and tidied to restore clean garden lines and give the property a brighter, more open and well-maintained appearance.
From Overgrown to Clean & Maintained
Regular trimming helps prevent established hedges and shrubs from taking over paths and surrounding garden areas. In this Botany project, the goal was to retain the existing landscaping while bringing the vegetation back under control.

Overgrown Hedge & Shrubs
The hedge had grown tall and dense and the surrounding planting had started to lose its individual shape, making the whole garden feel more crowded.

Trimmed, Shaped & Tidied
Once the hedge and shrubs were trimmed back, the garden became much more open and the different plants were clearly visible again.
Established Garden Growth Had Become Overgrown
Hedge and shrub growth occurs gradually, so it can be difficult to notice how much vegetation has expanded until pathways begin to feel narrower and the garden starts to lose its original shape.
In this Botany garden, the hedge had become tall and dense while the surrounding shrubs were beginning to blend together visually.
The garden itself was established and did not require redesigning. The main requirement was to bring the existing vegetation back under control.
Hedge Trimming & Garden Maintenance
The existing garden layout was retained while the overgrown vegetation was trimmed, shaped and tidied.
Hedge Trimming
Excess hedge growth was cut back to restore a cleaner and more controlled outline.
Shrub Shaping
Surrounding shrubs were tidied and shaped so the individual plants were better defined.
Garden & Lawn Tidy-Up
The surrounding garden and lawn areas were tidied to complement the freshly trimmed vegetation.
A Cleaner, Brighter & More Welcoming Garden
Once the hedge and surrounding vegetation were brought back under control, the difference was immediately visible. The pathway felt more open, the individual plants were easier to see and the whole garden looked much more deliberate and well maintained.
This project shows that a major garden redesign is not always necessary. Straightforward hedge trimming, shrub shaping and general maintenance can dramatically improve the appearance of an established property.
