Why Off-the-Shelf Sheds Rarely Fit the Job
A flat-pack shed from the hardware store is built to a standard size, not to what you actually need to store — and not to a sloping site. It's common to end up with awkward gaps, a door in the wrong place, or a shed that's either too small for the mower and tools or oversized and eating half the garden.
What This Dannemora Client Needed
The available space was a long boundary strip with sloping ground and no doors, shelving or organised compartments. Rather than force-fitting a standard kit into the space, this shed was built custom — measured and laid out around exactly what needed to go in it, stepped to follow the fall of the ground.
Building Around the Actual Space and Need
That starts with what's being stored and how much room it genuinely takes, not a catalogue size. Timber framing formed separate storage bays, plywood cladding enclosed the structure, and individual doors were fitted so different items could be kept separate and easy to find.
