Prep the Surface
The substrate is levelled and prepared so new tile and grout have a solid, even base to bond to.
Lay or Repair the Tile
Tiles are laid or replaced with consistent spacing and levelling, matched to the surrounding area.
Grout & Finish
Grouted, cleaned and checked before handover, with the site left tidy.
What Affects the Cost of Tile Work?
Small repairs — a cracked tile, a section of loose grout, a chipped edge — start from $180–220. Bigger jobs are charged at $90/hour, and new tile installation is priced from $80/m² (labour only).
Larger areas take more time and material than a small repair.
A quick fix is priced differently to laying a whole new area.
Tile type, size and pattern affect labour time.
Awkward access or a substrate that needs levelling adds time.
Wet areas may need waterproofing done before tiling.

How much does tile repair cost?
Small repairs — a cracked tile, loose grout, a chipped edge — start from $180–220. Can you match my existing tile if it's an old or discontinued style?
We'll do our best to source a close match, but very old or discontinued tiles aren't always available. We'll let you know honestly during the quote if an exact match isn't possible.
Do you do new tile installation, not just repairs?
Yes — new floor and wall tiling is priced from $80/m², labour only, on top of repairs and regrouting.
Can loose or hollow-sounding tiles be fixed without a full retile?
Often, yes — a hollow-sounding tile usually means it's lost its bond to the substrate underneath. It can often be re-bedded or replaced individually rather than retiling the whole area.
Do you tile commercial spaces as well as homes?
Yes — we handle both residential and commercial tile installation and repair across East Auckland, including shops, offices and other commercial entrances.
How long does a typical tile job take?
A small repair can often be done in a single call-out. Bigger jobs, like a full bathroom retile or a new floor, depend on the area and prep required — we'll give you a realistic timeline as part of your quote.
